Joining the AmCham
Membership Eligibility:
The AmCham Coral Sea welcomes businesses and individuals based in the Coral Sea region. Membership comes with a host of benefits and requires the completion and submission of a membership application (below). This application will be subject to review by the AmCham Membership Subcommittee for approval by the wider AmCham Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP
(a) A person is qualified to be a member of the Association if the person is a natural person or corporation who:
(i) is interested in establishing or is already engaged in, business, trade or professional affiliation with other businesses in the United States of America; or
(ii) is a corporation incorporated in the United States of America with a local corporate presence in Papua New Guinea and is interested in developing business, trade or professional affiliation with other businesses in Papua New Guinea and the Coral Sea Region;
(iii) is not a government, state-owned or controlled entity or person;
(iv) is an individual is not bankrupt and if a corporation is not subject to an Insolvency Event; and
(v) has been approved for membership of the Association by the Board.
(b) The Membership Subcommittee will develop By-Laws and Policies regarding qualifications and criteria for membership. The By-Laws and Policies of membership and any changes proposed from time to time, shall be presented to the Board for consideration and must be ratified by the Board by a majority vote of no less than a 75% of Board Members present and voting at a Board meeting.
